Southern Province Capacity Building Training Programme

Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Southern Province Capacity Building Programme comes to a close today with over 250 SMEs and Cooperatives being awarded certificates of attendance.
Speaking during the closing ceremony at the Courtyard Hotel in Livingstone, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Subeta Mutelo observed that the high number of people participating at the training is a demonstration of the high demand for knowledge that the Ministry and its partners are offering.
She stated that the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development will continue to help develop more robust public capacity building programmes, improve the mode of delivery, in order to ensure that positive results and impact is recorded.
“Over the course of this programme, we have explored key aspects of business management and finance, aiming to equip participants with the necessary skills to thrive in their respective businesses”.
The Permanent Secretary stated that Government will continue reinforcing existing partnerships and building new ones for the benefit of the SMEs and Cooperatives across the country.
“To our sponsors, let us continue to collaborate, learn, and innovate to strengthen the resilience of the SMEs and Cooperatives and contribute to sustainable economic growth”. Say Said.
She urged Gatbro International to handhold SMEs and Cooperatives that are in production of goods such as sweets and detergents to ensure their good are perfected and penetrate the competitive market.
Mrs. Mutelo encouraged the SMEs and Cooperative to take advantage of the open doors provided by Chain stores and delivery services of institutions such as Gatbro.
She encouraged the SMEs and Cooperatives to utilize the newly-acquired skills in a self-centric manner, promoting self-evaluation in terms of changes to their respective business needs.
